Sections

In the Sections area, the information is divided into eight sections oriented to researchers, different professionals who work with older persons, older persons themselves, families and the public at large.

• Documentation
  This section contains information resources that will help the researchers, students or professionals who work in the fields of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and that relatives and older persons themselves will find helpful.
   
• Legislation
  This section contains information about international, EU, state, regional and local legislation applicable in Spain to older persons. The full texts stored in the database are not a guarantee of accuracy. Therefore an official copy of the law in question must be obtained from the original source (official state bulletins).
    
• Statistics
  This section contains statistical information on demographic, socio-economic, health and social services aspects, as well as documents and links to other portals of statistical interest
    
• Research
  This section contains detailed information about the main lines of Spanish scientific research conducted recently into medical, biological, social and economic issues in relation to older persons
    
• Health and psycology
  This section contains detailed information for health professionals who specialize in the psychology of aging, and for older persons themselves and their families.
    
• Residental homes
  This section contains information about on nursing homes and community and sheltered accommodation for older persons in Spain. You can either look for specific information that you're interested in or else use predesigned queries and download other residential home-related information products.
    
• Programmes
  This section contains information about the different programmes (financial aid, services, schemes, etc.) organised for Older Persons in Spain. Searches can be made by autonomous region and by subject matter. One specific group are the programmes run by the Institute of Migration and Social Services.
    
• Internacional
  This section contains information about international population ageing, and includes the main documents drafted on the occasion of the United Nations Second World Assembly on Ageing and other documents issued by international agencies.
